Harmony Homecare Suffolk
Respite care
Short-term cover so a family carer can rest, travel or simply catch their breath, while their loved one stays safely at home.
Caring for a family member is rewarding, but it's also tiring, and everyone needs a break sometimes. Respite care means a trained carer steps in for a few hours, a few days, or longer, so you can step back knowing things are in safe hands.
It can be a one-off, arranged around a holiday or hospital stay, or a regular slot each week so a family carer has a standing break to look forward to.

What our carers can do
Where we work with clinical teams
Our carers are trained and supported, but some tasks are properly the responsibility of district nurses, GPs or other health professionals. We're upfront about the boundary so everyone knows where they stand.
How care starts
Let us know when you need cover, for how long, and what the usual routine looks like.
For longer respite we visit at home to meet the person and note the routine in detail; short cover can often be arranged by phone.
A carer takes over for the agreed period, with a handover to and from the family carer either side.
Cost
Respite is priced the same way as ongoing visiting or live-in care, depending on the hours needed, with guide rates from £20.94 per 30-minute visit on our pricing page. See /pricing and /care-costs for a fuller picture.

A regular visitor for conversation, a cup of tea, a walk or a trip out — for people who'd simply like more company at home.
Unhurried, person-centred support for people living with dementia, from carers who take time to know the person behind the diagnosis.
