Harmony Homecare Suffolk
Competition terms · Version 2.0

Eligibility & Rules

These are the published rules for the Harmony Homecare Suffolk Carers of the Year 2026–2027 free prize draw. They are simple, supportive and achievable: they describe normal professional care standards, and every Harmony carer should be able to qualify.

  • Promotion type: free prize draw. No purchase, payment, donation or financial contribution is required to enter.
  • Effective from: 2 September 2026 — these rules are not retrospective.
  • Final draw: 15 July 2027, at our 7th Anniversary Party.
  • Monitoring: begins when you register and accept these rules. Colleagues who registered earlier must reconfirm, and their monitoring starts from that acceptance.

1. Mandatory rules

To be entered into the free prize draw you need to meet every rule below.

  1. 1. Employment

You are an active Harmony Homecare Suffolk employee on 15 July 2027 and your employment with Harmony began on or before 31 December 2026. Carers joining Harmony have one month from their employment start date to register, and in every case no later than 31 December 2026. Approved sickness, maternity or paternity leave, disability-related leave, annual leave and other authorised leave do not break continuous service.

  2. 2. Missed visits

No avoidable missed visit attributable to you and confirmed after a fair, documented investigation.

  3. 3. Delay reporting

You notify the office through an approved channel every time you know, or reasonably should know, that you may be late. Notification must be prompt and safe — never use a phone while driving. Pull over safely or call before you set off.

  4. 4. Medication safety

You report, document and escalate missing or low medication stock during the visit in line with Harmony's Medication Policy, and take all reasonable action within your role to help prevent a client running out.

  5. 5. Documentation

Care notes, MAR/eMAR entries and mandatory reports are completed accurately and on time.

  6. 6. Training and supervision

Mandatory training, supervisions and assessments are kept current, or you are following an approved completion plan.

  7. 7. Respect and dignity

Clients, families, professionals and colleagues are treated respectfully, and you uphold our CREWDRIVE values.

  8. 8. Team conduct

No substantiated serious or repeated bullying, harassment, discrimination, malicious gossip, or knowingly false statements intended to harm Harmony or another person.

  9. 9. Confidentiality

No substantiated serious or repeated confidentiality or data-protection breach.

  10. 10. Social / ambassador contribution

You meet the fair ambassador requirement below — either by sharing posts marked “Carers Holiday Draw – Required Share”, or by completing an equally accessible alternative activity agreed with the office.

  11. 11. Referral

You make at least one qualifying referral, as defined below. The candidate does not need to be hired.

Positive feedback can add extra entries, but it can never override a failed mandatory rule — including a confirmed avoidable missed visit, a serious medication failure, abuse, a serious confidentiality breach or another serious compliance failure.

2. Fair exceptions and safeguards

  • A missed visit or delay is not attributable to you when it is caused by a rota or office error, a client cancellation or refusal, a hospital admission, properly reported illness, an emergency, severe weather, a road closure, unsafe conditions, an office instruction, or another verified situation genuinely outside your control.
  • For medicines, you are responsible only for actions within your role. You will not be penalised for delays caused by a GP, pharmacy, family member or client once you have reported, documented and escalated correctly.
  • An allegation, complaint, rumour or automated alert alone never causes disqualification. Verified evidence and a completed fair process are always required.
  • Safeguarding reports, whistleblowing, grievances, health-and-safety concerns, protected disclosures, reports to HR, CQC or ACAS, and legal or union advice are never treated as reputation damage.
  • Minor correctable errors create Amber status with a reasonable corrective deadline — not automatic disqualification. Honest near-miss reporting followed by prompt correction is not an automatic failure.
  • Only substantiated serious or repeated breaches may lead to a final Red status.
  • Reasonable adjustments are available for disabled employees, and full-time, part-time, zero-hours and fixed-term colleagues are treated equally.

3. Social / ambassador requirement

  • Only posts explicitly marked “Carers Holiday Draw – Required Share” count towards this requirement.
  • There will be no more than one required-share post per week.
  • Share the post within seven days of publication.
  • Use this disclosure with your share: “I work for Harmony Homecare Suffolk and I am sharing this as part of our employee competition.”
  • A direct link or a cropped screenshot is accepted as evidence. We will never ask for your password, full-profile access, or for your profile to be public.
  • If you do not use social media, or prefer not to use a personal account, the office will assign a comparable approved ambassador activity — for example supporting a recruitment event, using another agreed channel, or an equivalent Harmony activity. The alternative will never be more burdensome and will never reduce your chances.

We do not publish a competitive sharing leaderboard. Your sharing evidence is held privately by the office and used only to confirm this requirement.

4. Referral requirement

A referral qualifies when:

  • The candidate is genuine and consents independently to apply.
  • The candidate submits a complete application.
  • The candidate identifies you as the referrer.
  • The candidate attends screening or interview.
  • The candidate does not need to be hired — that decision is outside your control.
  • We never accept or store candidate personal data without their permission.

5. Positive feedback and draw entries

How entries are calculated

  • 1 base entry — you meet every mandatory rule.
  • +1 entry — at least one verified positive feedback item from a client, family member or external professional.
  • +1 entry — at least one verified positive feedback item from a colleague.
  • Maximum 3 entries per eligible participant. A failed mandatory rule means no entries, whatever the feedback.
  • Feedback must identify the carer by name and give a specific, concrete example.
  • It must come from a verifiable person and be received during your monitored period.
  • It must be approved by an authorised administrator before it counts.
  • Accepted routes: our reviews page, email, letter, documented telephone feedback, or the nomination form on this site.
  • Multiple messages from the same person about the same carer count once.
  • Generic comments without an example, self-nominations, arranged reciprocal nominations and unverifiable feedback do not qualify.
  • Carers must never pressure clients, write reviews on their behalf, or offer any reward for feedback.
  • Public publication is optional — private verified feedback still counts.
  • Colleague feedback is shown separately as “Colleague Recognition” and is never presented as independent client feedback.

You can see privately how your own total was calculated — base entry, external-feedback bonus and colleague bonus — by asking the office. Nobody else sees your status or entry total.

6. Review, appeal and privacy

  1. Monthly reviews

Documented monthly reviews run through 30 June 2027.

  2. Preliminary checks

Preliminary eligibility checks take place 1–5 July 2027.

  3. Private preliminary decisions

Amber or Red preliminary decisions are sent privately, stating the criterion, the factual reason, the internal evidence reference and how to appeal.

  4. Appeals

You have five working days to appeal. Two authorised staff members are required for every final Red decision.

  5. Final eligible list

The final eligible list is confirmed by 14 July 2027.

  6. Free prize draw

The free prize draw takes place on 15 July 2027, with independent witness confirmation.

Green means a criterion is met. Amber means evidence is pending, an investigation is ongoing or there is a correctable issue. Red means a confirmed final failure after review and an appeal opportunity. Pending investigations stay Amber and are never treated as proven misconduct. Eligibility status, evidence and reasons are never shown publicly — see our competition privacy information.

7. The draw

  • The draw takes place on 15 July 2027 using a verifiably random method.
  • One entry is generated for every eligible participant, plus approved feedback bonus entries, capped at three.
  • The final entry list, the random seed and the result are preserved in our audit log.
  • An independent witness confirms the draw. No confidential evidence is shown during the draw.
  • Winners are validated and must accept their prize within 14 days of being notified.
  • If a winner is unavailable or found ineligible, a documented redraw takes place from the remaining entries.

8. Prizes

  • 1st prize

One seven-night holiday for two — winner's choice

Seven nights away for you and a companion. The winner chooses one of three experiences: Egypt Red Sea, a seven-night all-inclusive cruise, or a five-star all-inclusive resort in the Greek Islands.

  • 2nd prize

Milan city break for two — 3 nights / 4 days

Three nights and four days in Milan for two people.

  • 3rd prize

Luxury UK spa day for two people

A full luxury spa day in the UK for two people.

  • Each prize is awarded to a maximum budget set by Harmony Homecare Suffolk and is subject to availability.
  • Travel dates are agreed with the office and exclude blackout periods such as school holidays and peak festive dates.
  • Guests may be a partner, family member or friend aged 18 or over — a winner is not required to travel with a romantic partner.
  • Winners and guests are responsible for holding valid travel documents, passports and any required visas.
  • Harmony may substitute a prize of equivalent value if a specific holiday, cruise or venue becomes unavailable.
  • Prizes are non-transferable and there is no cash alternative.
